Background Information

The Dr. Jart+ V7 Product line boasts using 7 different vitamins to help boost skin metabolism while focusing on skin radiance, as well as improving your overall skin health. If you are not familiar with Dr. Jart+, the brand has been a global leader in skincare since it first came into mass market sales in 2005. The brand focuses on serious skincare issues, and is probably most well known for it’s contributions to the BB Cream phenomenon. This line in particular is not available through the US side of the company, as the US company focuses on that particular regions demands. As far as I can tell, this line was only available through it’s Korean retailers, so you may still be able to find this in the US like I did, but you will probably have to go to a local Korean cosmetics store to find it. Dr. Jart+ US products can be found at Sephora.

If you are a fan of products without a lot of ingredients, and having those ingredients be mostly natural, I think you might have to look for something else. There are quite a lot of ingredients in here, so many that I stopped reading halfway down. But, if you desperately need something to get rid of your acne scars, redness, and blemishes that just won’t go away— you’re in luck! This is the product of my your dreams!

How to use:
You can use this as an ointment on blemishes, red spots, and acne scars for your final step of skin care. You may also use this as a thin face cream to improve your complexion and overall skin texture. I have very dry skin, so both of these applications worked very well for me, but if you have oily to combination skin, I do not think applying this on your whole face would be too pleasant for you because it is a thick, ointment consistency.

Does it work?

HELL YES IT WORKS.

Redness and acne scars: I am a gogo dancer, and when I work, I sweat A LOT. That sweat is mixed with layers upon layers of makeup, hair dye, and hairspray that gets deep down into my pores and completely ruins my face. That said, I have had really bad acne scars along my temples and hairline area for almost two years now, and nothing I have done has made them go away. When I received a few samples of this at a local store, I used them right away and my scars started fading within two days. NO LIE. After about two weeks, and I was done with the samples, the marks on my temples were completely gone. Two years on my face, then two weeks of this product and then they’re gone! Can you see why I love this thing now?

But that’s not the only reason. Second is…

Acne and Blemishes: Because of how bad my skin broke out, I no longer dye my hair anymore(and it’s killing me inside), but I still have very acne prone skin. Plus, I’m still in the same job setting, so I’m still wearing tons of makeup and clogging my pores every shift I work. So basically, I break out, it fades a little, then my period comes and I break out again. Rinse. Repeat. The other day I happened to find another sample hidden waaaaay at the back of my skincare drawer and was ecstatic! On that day my skin was really red, really irritated, and my acne was out of control. I used this pretty much all over my face before I went to bed and I woke up and my first thought looking at my face was, “What the hell?” All that irritation and redness I had was somehow gone. I still had acne, of course, but my breakouts were about half as big as they were the day before. It really looked like I was in the last stage of being broken out instead of the first. It was crazy. I didn’t know what happened, and then I remembered I found the Vitalaser.

Then I had to buy it.

I somewhat feel bad reviewing this product when I, myself, could scarcely find it. I had seen it on BeautyNetKorea.com before, but didn’t buy it on there for some strange reason. I think because I had about 3 sample sizes that were going to last me a while. But as of yesterday I couldn’t find this stuff anywhere. I found descriptions of it on sites, but they were sold out. It wasn’t on BeautyNetKorea.com anymore, either. The only place I knew that had it was the local Korean cosmetics store in town that gave me the samples. The only problem with buying there was that it costs $72 there, when on other sites it was around $36-$39. That’s a big price jump. But, today, I talked myself into it because I know I’m going to break out again, because my skin is just that prone to acne, and I know I’ll regret not having it when I need it, and kick myself in the ass if they sell out. But it’s the only thing that’s worked for me, so I don’t feel bad shoveling out the money for it.

I really hope Dr. Jart+ is only revamping the line, and not discontinuing it because the V7 line is truly amazing, and this ointment is fantastic.

PROS: Extremely effective! Works on acne, redness, and acne scars. Leaves skin glowing and even. Miracle in a tube. This is also the last step in your skincare regimen, so you can still pamper your face with sheetmasks and then use this.
CONS: Price ranges from pretty pricey to super expensive. Hard to find. May be(but hopefully not) discontinued.

I hope this review was helpful and piqued your interest in this brand. Even though this particular item may be unavailable to you, the other products they have are very effective, and are always worth the cost, in my honest opinion. If you want information on other Dr. Jart+ products, here is some info that may be helpful for you…

Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Wash Off Mask

I just met the exfoliator of my dreams!

20151028_023335

Tonight, as I just happened to be walking through the TJ Maxx skincare section, I happened to find this lovely gem amongst the chaotic shelf of reduced priced merchandise. My eyes lit up instantly and I grabbed it off the bottom shelf, gave it a once over to make sure I was really seeing Korean skincare in a TJ Maxx, and then scanned the shelf much more closely to see if there were any more Skinfood or other Korean skincare products. Sadly, there were no more Skinfood products(you bet your butt I’d have bought them all!), but there were several Dr. Jart+ products, and a few Shiseido products. I bought two Dr. Jart+ BB creams, but I was most excited about this Skinfood mask. Especially since it was the only one on the shelf, and didn’t seem like it belonged there. It was like finding treasure.

The main reason why I was so happy to find this product was actually because I was planning on buying the Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Wash Off Mask online when I got home, and had been wanting to buy it for a while. Then comes along this little beauty! I had seen this honey version online before, and really wanted to try it, but I thought I would try the strawberry one first, but even so, I was extremely happy to have found this. Walking out of the store, I thought, “Now I don’t need to order the other one yet.” After using this, I am SO MUCH HAPPIER that I got to use this one first. Let me tell you why…

THE REVIEW

When you open the tub, you will instantly be greeted by a lovely, sweet, honey smell. Smell, not scent. Scent is too light of a word for what comes tumbling into your nose when you open this product. The instructions say that before using, you should shake the tub to mix the contents as the black sugar tends to sink to the bottom and separate from the honey. Shaking didn’t do much in the way of bringing the contents together, so I would recommend using a spatula from some other skincare product that you have washed, or maybe had laying around from a product that you used up. After stirring the contents, you apply the mask to a damp, clean face, and massage gently. You then leave the mask on your face for about 10-15 minutes, and then wash off with lukewarm water.

Wearing the mask was lovely. I enjoy wearing sheet masks daily, but you know that instantly cold sensation of your face when you walk into a different room because the mask is wet? Yeah, that’s not pleasant. But this mask, oddly enough, made my skin feel warm where it was covering, and the rest of my body felt cold. Granted, it’s around 70 degrees in my house, and to me, that’s cold, but my face was totally warm and protected. It was an odd… yet extremely pleasant feeling.

After wearing the mask for 15 minutes, I massaged it into my skin again for a minute, over my lips to get the dead skin off them, and then rinsed. Even rinsing, I could already feel the difference this mask made on my skin. As I washed it of, I was baffled at how ridiculously soft it felt. When I dried my face off, it felt so hydrated, so soft, and so healthy. I didn’t even feel like I needed toner(though I did use it). The black sugar gently scrubbed away my dead skin cells, while the honey revitalized my skin, making it plump, healthy, and glowing. This wash off mask made my face feel better than a good deal of sheet masks, and I LOVE sheet masks. The best part? My skin still has a nice, light scent of honey even under all the toner and lotions that I put over it.

PROS: Lovely scent, gentle exfoliation, extremely moisturizing, makes skin soft, makes skin glow
CONS: Can be a little messy, really hard to look cute wearing it

I absolutely recommend this product.
First impression – 5 out of 5

Elizavecca Brand Highlight

Elizavecca is a brand that was made popular by their Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack and Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. I was already a fan of the Bubble Clay Mask and the Water Coating Aqua Whitening Mask before I was approached to review a few of their other products, so when I was asked I was very much excited to try out what they sent me.

IMG_20151017_214149

I was sent three products by the company. I was sent the Kangsipack, 24K Gold Snail Cleansing Foam, and the Bio Cling Whitening Aqua Mask. All of these products seem fairly new, based on their social media posts, and are only available on their Korean website at the moment. They have sent a good number of these products out to others to review, so hopefully soon they will be available in international markets.

Now let’s start the review…

24K Gold Snail Foaming Cleanser

This foaming cleanser boasts having snail secretion and 24k gold extracts as it’s promotional components, as is obvious by the label. Personally, I haven’t looked too far into the benefits of gold products, but I know that it is very popular, but not as popular as snail secretion has been the past few years.

When I first used this cleanser, I noticed that it had a very mild scent similar to baby powder. The plastic packaging was also hard to use as it was very stiff. I had to hold the tube upside down and use both hands to squeeze the cleanser out. When you create the foam in your hand you should notice the soft silkiness of the product and that silkiness continues on when you massage it into your face. It is a very pleasant product to massage into skin, and you may find yourself(like me) working the lather a little too long. Despite being very soft to the touch, the cleanser works very well. A little too well, I think, because when you rinse your face, your skin feels very rubber like. I only use this at night after needing to wash off makeup, because in the morning it’s not mild enough and can dry your skin just a bit.

Kangsipack

This mask was a bit hard to get information on, but from what they had told me, and what I had seen on other reviewers media, the mask seemed entertaining. When you put the mask on it starts off as gold, then dries white and hardens, then you wash off. I’ve only used this once, but I did enjoy it. It had a nice scent out of the tube, and stayed until the mask turned white. When it turned white it hardened, and my face felt like an eggshell. After washing it off, I noticed that the purpose of this mask was for whitening as my face did look a bit lighter. I think that their Water Coating Aqua Whitening Mask was more effective in terms of whitening and hydrating, but this mask was pretty entertaining and made my skin soft. If you can’t find the Water Coating Aqua Whitening Mask, then this is a good alternative.

Bio Cling Aqua Whitening Aqua Mask

This mask is a whitening hydrogel mask, and I am not much of a fan of hydrogel masks because I don’t feel they work for me. This mask was no exception. I feel like it dried a little too quickly to really work, and while it moisturized my face, it didn’t do anything substantial. I will try it again to see if maybe the particular one was just a bad mask, but overall I wasn’t very effective on me. But, as I said, I don’t really seem very receptive to hydrogels in general.

I hope this helped if you had any questions on either of these three products. I really enjoy Elizavecca as a brand and think they make fun, whimsical, and generally effective products. If you can, be sure to try them out!
